Multiple applications do you no favours!

There are an increasing number of applicants who are applying to everything advertised in the hope something will stick! This scattergun approach does no one any favours except to create work for the candidate and the potential employer, confuse decision makers and potentially loose key candidates in the volume of applications. It creates unrealistic expectation as well as disgruntled candidates who are disappointed and demoralised in their job searches.

Candidate preparation is KEY
Get yourself an AWESOME cv – one that really speaks about you and your true potential and highlights your unique skills and attributes – not just lists of tasks and responsibilities (we can help with this at Career Team).
Really think about what it is you are trying to achieve and your dream job expectations.
Be clear and targeted about what you apply for – have an articulate error free covering letter which speaks to the job being advertised to demonstrate that you have really considered what’s being advertised.
Tailor your cv to emphasis transferable skills to the position advertised – don’t make the reader dig for your talent!
ONLY apply to those positions which meet your criteria and where you meet the criteria of what is being advertised.
Sounds basic? And it really is – don’t waste your time in the endless and dissatisfying nameless faceless online application process – get yourself a GREAT consultant who will represent you and your skills in the best possible light.
